Titan Business Insurance reckons that SMEs have much to learn from watching the highly successful BBC programme The Apprentice which offers a microcosm of all the issues faced by business people.
As the highly successful reality show The Apprentice closes after yet another fascinating run, one of the UK’s largest insurance brokers, Titan Business Insurance, sees it as a timely reminder to all businesses, especially SMEs, to ensure they have proper cover.
Over the weeks 16 candidates were whittled down to the four who pitched for their business idea to be accepted and taken into partnership with Lord Sugar who was putting up £250,000 of seed corn finance. On the way to that pitch, there have been so many tasks which together, aptly demonstrated the issues and problems that are raised on a daily basis across the UK business sector.
The programme highlighted the wide range of cover needed to protect employees, subcontractors, suppliers and customers.
Chief Executive Officer of Titan Business Insurance, Basil Tsapralis, said:
“The Apprentice is great fun and superb entertainment first, and a business programme second. The candidates are thrown into such an intense pressure pot of which there are few parallels in the actual business arena. But what it does do is encapsulate all the problems that SMEs have to face on a daily basis, including employee health and safety, food hygiene and professional indemnity insurance.
“We say enjoy it as prime time TV, but also take a useful lesson from the programme, the main one being, ensure that you and your staff are properly covered. ”
As one of the largest business insurance brokers, Titan deals with a portfolio that stretches across all sectors and reaches throughout the UK.
